![]() Kew Technik now offers an amazing easy to use and sensibly priced new tool that will give complete confidence in the knowledge that a perfectly straight cut with no ragged edges will render the cable ready for safe termination to glands or fittings in no time at all.īlade Runner will cut the outer sheath of SWA cable up to 28mm in diameter, then uniformly score the SWA strands which protect the inner conductors from damage guaranteeing a fast, accurate, 'straight cut'. Cutting steel wire with a sharp hacksaw is not easy and getting that final result perfectly straight, right round the circumference of the cable, can be even more difficult. In our range you will find fully automatic, manual and thermal strippers from well-known brands such as Knipex, Weidmüller or Wiha.It is well known that working with SWA can be time consuming and laborious. The rest of the process differs only slightly from that of manually operated pliers. With an automatic wire stripper, the adjustment to the diameter of the electrical conductor is automatic. If the resistance is now still too great, you should use a different setting of the adjusting screw. If it does not, they can try again after another turn lengthwise. If up to here the process has been done correctly, the insulation should come off the electrical conductor. To ensure that only the insulation is twisted off, care should be taken to ensure that this is facing inwards.ģ) Pulling off the jacket - with some effort of force, the pliers and cable should now be pulled apart. The screw is now turned open or closed until it touches the mating wing.Ģ) Twist off the sheathing - the stripper must now be twisted once around the length of the previously pinched piece of cable. Now the pliers can be closed carefully until the entanglement is stopped by the cable. ![]() This must be facing away from the set screw. Using a manually operated wire stripper always follows these three basic steps:ġ) Setting the set screw correctly - the end of the cable is placed in the attachment gap for this purpose. To remove special thermoplastic insulation from cables, a thermal stripper is required. ![]() Operating an electric wire stripper, on the other hand, requires more prior knowledge, since information such as the wire diameter must be specified. Wire strippers can be used even by inexperienced employees, as their use does not require any special expertise. To avoid this, wire strippers are used, as their specially shaped head provides a stable grip. ![]() This can occur, for example, due to indentations caused by the careless removal of insulation. When stripping, some things must be taken into account, because the quality and operational safety of the electrical connections can be negatively affected. The tool can still be operated by hand or used electronically. The purpose of this particular tool is to simplify the stripping of cables and other electrical wires. This exposed or stripped piece is required for conductive connection. Part of the insulation of an electrical conductor, such as a wire or stranded wire, is removed.
